More Changes in Google Results

Wow! It has been a busy week for Google, it seems.

Caffeine Implemented?

Rankings have changed with what appears to be the implementation of some results similar to those seen in the Caffeine update. Personally, from the few searches I’ve done, this update looks like it needs a lot of work. Search engine results pages (SERPs) are jumbled with a mix of listings that aren’t as relevant as previously listed pages including listings for pages that no longer exist and links to press releases about a company sending employees for training in 2005. Hmm… think you guys need to give this update a little more elbow grease.

Breadcrumb Navigation

The Red Cardinal blog reported on Google’s display of breadcrumb navigation in SERPs. I could not duplicate this, but since Red Cardinal is in Ireland and I’m in the U.S., it’s probably a geography issue.

Related Searches Options

I noticed today that Google has added a related searches option in their new pay layout. Labeled as “any time” this menu lets you choose between related searches over a specified period of time or by keyphrase.
